The club acknowledges they’ll pay tribute to Juneteenth with an assortment of music such as drumming, spirituals, and spoken word. They says that the event will incorporate jazz trumpeter Lanard Perry and pupils from the Caring and Sharing Learning School.
“The many gifts of African American civilization to America’s musical tradition deserves focus and we’re pleased to collaborate with the Town of Gainesville’s’Journey into Juneteenth,'” said Vivian Filer,the Chairman of the Cotton Club Museum and Cultural Center, in a media release.
