In the Corona-crisis have once again filed more Hessian company insolvency with the court. In may, there were 135 proposed insolvency procedure, such as the Statistical office announced on Monday in Wiesbaden. Of these, 86 cases were opened and 49 rejected due to insufficient assets.

The number of the requested company insolvencies rose by 3.1 percent month-on-month in April and by 9.8 percent for may, 2019. The sum of the expected claims is estimated at just under 1.3 billion euros.

In may have requested in order for the fourth month in a row, more Hessian company insolvency proceedings in the courts. The rise was but now is less. In April and March, the number had risen to nearly 34 and 22 per cent the previous month.

The Federal Ministry of justice had suspended due to the Corona-crisis, the duty of filing for Insolvency proceedings for companies which are affected by the pandemic, until the end of September. Insolvency experts warn, therefore, prior to a delayed bankruptcy. The credit insurer Euler Hermes about expects a significant increase in business insolvencies from autumn.
