Crews from Wilkinsburg-Penn Joint Water Authority are working to repair a water main break that occurred at Frankstown Road and Curtis Street in Penn Hills on Thursday night.

A foreman working to repair the line said Friday morning the break was reported just before midnight. Traffic was reduced to one lane while repairs were being made.

Vanessa Davis, of the Wilkinsburg-Penn Joint Water Authority, said approximately 70 homes do not have water as a result of the break.

“We expect to have the water restored by the end of today,” she said.

The cause of the break remains unclear, said Davis.
