The National Institute of Statistics has a tool that allows you to discover which are the most common surnames in Spain. Based on the information they collect from the municipal register of each town hall, they offer a series of data that reveal the names and surnames that are most repeated among the population.
The corresponding INE search engine shows a space to write a name or surname. The result reflects the number of people who share it and its distribution by provinces on a map of the country with different shades of green. In addition, it indicates how many individuals have a certain last name in the first place, how many have it in the second place and how many in both.
