Many of Hesse’s municipalities must cope with because of the Corona pandemic, a massive decline in their revenue from the trade tax. Above average in 2020 Frankfurt was affected in the first half of the year, such as the Statistical office announced on Wednesday in Wiesbaden. The largest Hessian city, just under two-thirds of the sum of the prior-year period fins, with around 700 million Euro accordingly. Hesse far-the revenue of the municipalities declined by almost 24 percent to 2.2 billion euros.
The Figures showed for the first time, such as the corona-related limitations for traders affected, said the statisticians. Offenbach have to deal, therefore, with a drop of 47.3 percent. Lighter declines reported with 0.6 and 5.5 per cent, Kassel, and Wiesbaden. Darmstadt has, however, after a weak first half of 2019, even an increase of 20.9 percent.
Minus up to 50 percent
In the 417 the municipalities belonging to the sector decreased tax revenue by 21.8 percent to 1.1 billion euros, as it is said in the message. In 284 municipalities, the deposits decreased, in 133 municipalities increased.
