Emmanuel Macron had made a commitment to the beginning of the mandate : the fight against discrimination in hiring. Then this summer, the government is expected to again accelerate in this sense, after a vast operation already carried out in the beginning of the year. In effect, the minister of the Town Julien Denormandie announced this Sunday, in The Parisian, new “testings” in companies in order to detect discrimination, in the wake of demonstrations against police violence and racism across France. “You have to fight against discrimination in everyday life”, said the minister, citing particularly the first testings organized by the government which had led “to pin 7 companies out of the 40 tested”.

The testing is to send, for the same job offer, two identical resumes with unique differences the origin of the applicant and/or an address in a popular area. Julien Denormandie also announces the upcoming arrival of a decree requiring that “all real estate agencies and professional associations in training for the fight against discrimination” every three years.
Finally, the minister advocates the deletion of the word “race” in the preamble of the Constitution, which stipulates that “every human being without distinction of race, religion or belief, possesses inalienable rights and sacred”.
Sunday morning, in the columns of the JDD, another minister, Gabriel Attal, is concerned about “forces of evil” who seek to thrive on the resentment of the youth for the “imposition of a fight of races”. The minister also calls for “a collective effort to save the younger” in the face of the economic crisis, and indicates that the sustainability of the reserve civic put in place during the crisis of the Covid could be a track.
