Facebook has detected and eliminated about 300 accounts of its homonymous social network and Instagram linked to a marketing firm that was used to launch a disinforcing campaign on Vaccines of the COVID-19 and recruit ‘influencers’ that shared its contents in
social networks.

The last report on Facebook’s coordinated Inauthentic Behavior includes the analysis of a misinformation campaign from Russia and linked to the Marketing Fazze firm, based in the United Kingdom, which ran its attacks against the public of Latin America, India and the United States
.

This campaign was developed in two phases.
The first, between November and December 2020, in which publications and comments were promoted against the AstraZeneca vaccine for the COVID-19, in which it was ensured that it would turn people into chimpanzees.
The second, in May of this year, questioned the security of the Pfizer vaccine.

This disinformation campaign worked with the support of ‘influencers’, those who recruited to share their publications on social networks such as Facebook and Instagram, but also in Tiktok and YouTube, where they already had public.

In general, and according to the Facebook report, the publications of these ‘influencers’ barely had a repercussion between their followers.
Only payment content managed to attract a certain attention.

Facebook highlights the difficulty in identifying this campaign, which carried out its operations in multiple Internet service simultaneously.
Once detected, the company withdrew 65 Facebook accounts and 243 by Instagram, and Fazze banned from its platforms.

This case is an example of the coordinated inauthentic behaviors that from Facebook detect and fight in the company’s services.
In the July report, it is collected that the elimination of 144 Facebook accounts and 262 Ad Instit, as well as 13 pages and eight groups, of two networks located in Burma and Russia.
