Ephemeral monuments, gunpowder, flowers, music, party and fire. Chaos of colors, sounds and crowds. The Fallas 2023 are already here. Through the streets of Valencia all the elements of its big week have been displayed this week, a festival declared a World Heritage Site. With the most important days of the festivities coinciding with the weekend, the arrival of tourists and visitors is assured. Below we detail the official program of the fallas, in which some of the most solemn acts open their hours and even locations, so that no one misses a single Josephine act.

The official Fallas 2023 Celebrations program kicked off at the beginning of the year with events such as the Exaltation of the Fallera Mayor of Valencia (January 27 and 28) or the inauguration of the Ninot Exhibition (February 3). But it is always the Crida, with the major falleras of Valencia gathering all the fallas commissions in the Torres de Serrano for the proclamation, which marks the starting signal for the festivities. This year, the welcome message to the Fallas took place on the last Sunday of February, which this year fell on the 26th.

Only three days after the Crida, on March 1, a daily date began in the Town Hall square with the “mascletà” (2:00 p.m.), a gunpowder bacchanalia that will continue every day at the same time until Sunday March 19.

The main days of the Fallas 2023, the big week, are concentrated from March 16, once the monuments have been planted, with an almost uninterrupted agenda between prizes, offerings, parades, fireworks displays, parades… Until moment of the “cremà”, on March 19, which will put an end to the Fallas. All this without counting on the contest of the illuminated streets, the multiple festivals of the neighborhoods and other activities organized by the commissions in the neighborhoods. It’s the boisterous party.

One of the main novelties of the Fallas 2023 is the change in the location of the firing point of the Fallas fireworks, including the Nit del Foc; This will continue in the old course of the Turia River, although now it will be at the height of the Palau de les Arts, in the City of Arts and Sciences, and not in the Alameda.

In order to see the castles, it is recommended to visit the following places: Palau de les Arts area, Avenida de la Plata, Calle Alcalde Reig or Avenida Profesor López Piñero. Other locations with a viewing area for the show are the Regne Bridge, Avenida de Francia and Paseo de la Alameda (the area of ??the Ángel Custodio bridge, access to which will be closed).

Another novelty is the suggestion of the fallas side not to launch firecrackers between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to ensure the rest of neighbors and pets.

Following the guidelines of the fallero side, the festivals can only be held on the nights of Saturday the 11th and from the 15th to the 18th of March and with a schedule between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. in the morning. Likewise, there will be a reduction in festivals in certain areas of the city center.

According to Valencia’s 2023 work calendar, March 19, Saint Joseph’s Day, will not be a holiday as it falls on a Sunday. Nor will it be a holiday in the city on Monday the 20th, although it will be in the Community of Madrid. Now, the Valencian children will have all the days of failures available after being declared as non-school days on March 15, 16 and 17, 2023, thus chaining the weekend 18 and 19.
