They no longer want to stand up for the royal family at the forefront. And so Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are also banished to the second row at the military parade for the Queen’s platinum anniversary. The two are still photographed.
Queen Elizabeth II welcomed thousands of people to kick off the celebrations of her platinum jubilee. After the traditional “Trooping the Color” parade, the crowd in attendance cheered the cheerful monarch as she appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
In addition to Elizabeth II, only working members of the royal family gathered on the balcony, but Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, who had traveled from the USA, were not far either.
It had previously become known that the two would watch the military parade from the Major General’s Office – an office in Buckingham Palace. They were spotted there as part of the celebrations.
The British “Daily Mail”, for example, published pictures showing Meghan in an open window with several small royals. The Duchess of Sussex appeared to be playfully and smilingly urging the children to be a little quieter during the parade. Apparently Harry agreed too.
Another picture shows the couple talking to the Duke of Kent. It can be seen that Harry chose a dark suit for the formal occasion, while Meghan opted for a dark blue dress and a large white hat with a blue bow. Another shot shows the couple driving through London in a car. These are the first snapshots of the two at the celebrations.
It had also been previously announced that Meghan and Harry would not be on the balcony with their relatives. In addition to the Queen, only family members working as royals gathered there. For example, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla performed. Prince William and Duchess Kate brought their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis with them.
But throughout the celebrations, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will probably not have to disappear into the background. For example, they are expected to attend a thanksgiving service for the Queen to be held at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday.
