Trinity Baptist Pastor Greg Hendrickson was intending on officiating murdered Yale graduate student Kevin Jiang’s wedding in the not too distant future, but rather he needed to officiate his funeral Saturday afternoon.
“Kevin’s life has been taken from us at a minute, also our town mourned its sixth homicide in as many months,” Hendrickson said in the funeral. What can we make of a human being who radiated light and pleasure, but whose existence has been snatched off on a dark night in an abusive assault?”
Jiang’s mom, Linda Liu, stated her son’s existence was”brief, but vibrant.”
“Kevin dwelt full-heartedly, enthusiastically, like a beam of sun,” she explained in the funeral Saturday. “He gave so much pleasure and pleasure to me and also to the folks around us”
His dad, Mingchen Jiang, said that he understands that”Kevin himself is an angel”
“His mission to the world would be to deliver adore,” Mingchen Jiang stated. “He’s remembered as one who’d ask,’How do I help?’ Love is the term Kevin used most frequently”
The police haven’t declared any loopholes in the case, but’ve identified 29-year-old Qinxuan Pan, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology researcher, as an individual of interest.
The U.S. Marshals Service provides a $5,000 reward for information resulting in the arrest of Pan, that had been seen in an Atlanta suburb Thursday afternoon”carrying a black back and behaving odd,” in accordance with this New York Times.
Pan seen car dealerships at Massachusetts and Connecticut searching for a little version SUV on the afternoon of the shooting, according to authorities.
She attended MIT in precisely the exact same time as Pan, that has been registered in a graduate program in the faculty because 2014, though authorities haven’t said whether there’s a link between the two.
“What I will tell you now is that we’re investigating every angle in regard to the investigation and associated with [each ] individual involved,” New Haven Police Chief Otoniel Reyes said Wednesday. “Now, we are not ready to let you know exactly what our advice is about their participation and whether there is a link between this and that particular investigation. What we can tell you is that we’re exploring this.”
