A woman and her daughter died this Saturday in an accident between the car in which they were traveling and a tanker truck in Cambados (Pontevedra). According to the Atlas agency, the driver was 42 years old and her daughter was 8.

The accident, reported by 112 Galicia, occurred at kilometer 1 of the VG-4.3 high-capacity road as it passes through Vilariño, in Cambados.

Several individuals notified 112, around 9:30 a.m., of a very serious accident, in which a truck transporting fuel and a car were involved.

The Health Urxencias of Galicia-061, the Ribadumia Firefighters, the GES Sanxenxo, the Civil Traffic Guard, Local Police and Civil Protection of Cambados, Vilanova and Vilagarcía intervened.

Emergency services confirmed the death of two people, a woman and a minor.

The Vilagarcía de Arousa City Council, of which the fatal victims were, has publicly expressed its condolences to the family, neighbors and friends of the two Sobradelo neighbors, mother and daughter, who “lost their lives in such a tragic way.”

The truck’s load was not affected, although what was in its tank was spilled.
