President George W. Bush is visiting MacDill Air Force Base today to sign copies of his new book, Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors.
The book is a collection of oil paintings by Bush along with the stories of the troops they represent, according to a news release. It honors the sacrifice and courage of America’s military servicemen and women.
Bush will begin autographing copies of his book 2:30 p.m. at the Surf’s Edge Club on base.
Proceeds of the book benefit the George W. Bush Presidential Center and its Military Service Initiative. The non-profit is focused on helping post-9/11 veterans and their families make a successful transition to civilian life and on addressing issues of veteran wellness, including post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.
