Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – The Vogelsberg district is the only district in Hesse in which there is no practice specializing in the treatment of diabetes. However, there is a corresponding supply in individual towns and communities directly adjacent to the Vogelsberg district, said Secretary of State for Social Affairs Anne Janz (Greens) in response to a parliamentary question from the SPD parliamentary group in Wiesbaden. According to the Hessen Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, there is nationwide care from the experts in the state.

According to the information, 125 diabetological practices are located in Hesse. Around 170 doctors in the state have the relevant accreditation. About 26 percent of the doctors are located in the rural regions of Hesse. Around 74 percent of the diabetologists worked in or near the urban centers.
