Hesse: 60-year-old hit by tram and seriously injured

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – A 60-year-old pedestrian was hit by a tram in Frankfurt and seriously injured. According to the police, the man entered the tram tracks on Thursday despite the red traffic light. Shortly thereafter, the train caught the 60-year-old from the side, the police said on Friday. He fell to the ground and sustained multiple injuries, including his head. The seriously injured man was then taken to a hospital. The train driver and passengers were not injured. Tram traffic was temporarily diverted. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
