Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – In the case of the former youth coach of SV Wehen Wiesbaden, who was accused of sexual assault on underage boys, no youth players of the club are affected. The third division football team announced this on Friday. The 35-year-old is charged with rape, sexual assault using limited willpower or the ability to express oneself, sexual abuse of children, production of child and youth pornography content and dangerous bodily harm.

“It is terrible to have to read what disgusting acts the former youth coach, who also worked for our club in the past, is accused of by the public prosecutor. It is also little consolation that, according to the findings of the public prosecutor, he did not commit these atrocities youth players of SV Wehen Wiesbaden,” said SVWW Managing Director Nico Schäfer. Nevertheless, this fact is “of course very reassuring” for the club and especially for the parents of the players.

The man was arrested on December 9 last year and has been in custody ever since. The club immediately separated from the coach after the allegations became known, to which the accused has not yet commented, according to the public prosecutor.
