Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – Around 97 percent of all property owners in Hesse have already provided their information on the building and apartment census. The Hessian State Statistical Office announced on Wednesday in Wiesbaden that the data collection for the 2022 census is about to be completed. Anyone who has not yet complied with their legal obligation to provide information will receive notification of a penalty payment in the coming days.
In this year’s census, in addition to the population figures and demographic data, figures on residential buildings are also determined. The census was originally supposed to take place in 2021. It was postponed by a year because of the corona pandemic. The survey is intended to create a reliable planning basis for political and economic decisions at federal, state and local level.
