Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – In Hesse there is a forest area of ??around 848,000 hectares, of which around 23 percent are privately owned. This is the result of the first comprehensive structural survey of forest enterprises in 2022, which the Federal Statistical Office published on Friday. Around 40 percent of the forest areas are managed by the state’s forest administrations. Around 35 percent is assigned to the corporations, such as special-purpose associations and municipalities. At around 6800 hectares, the federal forest is by far the smallest part of the Hessian forest.
