Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – The Museumsuferfest in Frankfurt attracted around a million people this year. In the best weather, the art and culture offerings with numerous concerts, theater and dance as well as gastronomy were extremely well received, said Ines Philipp, spokeswoman for Tourismus und Congress GmbH, the German Press Agency on Sunday. A total of more than 400 individual events were on the program, 25 museums opened their doors to visitors from Friday and offered guided tours, workshops and other events.

Pins, which were available for seven euros and were sold out over the weekend, served as admission tickets, said Philipp. The Museum Embankment Festival was officially opened on Friday evening, and the program ended with musical fireworks on Sunday evening. The Frankfurt police spoke on Sunday afternoon of a peaceful course of the three-day festival. In the past two years, the Museumsuferfest had been canceled due to corona.
