Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) – The Damstadt Greens have chosen their candidate for the mayoral election in March next year. As the party announced on Wednesday, Michael Kolmer received 94 percent of the votes at the general meeting on Tuesday evening. The Head of Planning, Environment, Climate Protection and Mobility has thus been nominated for the election to succeed Jochen Partsch.

Partsch had announced that he did not want to compete again. He was elected to office in 2011 as the first green mayor of a major German city. The Green Party praised Kolmer as a “team player” who has strong leadership and has established a modern management style in his department.
