Weiterstadt (dpa/lhe) – Baked goods worth around 5,000 euros were destroyed in a fire in a truck in Weiterstadt-Gräfenhausen (Darmstadt-Dieburg district) on Monday morning. The driver of the delivery truck of a large bakery reported the fire as he was unloading in front of a supermarket, the police said. According to initial findings, the fire broke out directly in the truck – probably due to a technical defect. The vehicle itself suffered damage of around 50,000 euros. The driver was not injured. Almost two hours after the fire was reported, the fire brigade was still busy putting out the fire.
