Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – Eintracht Frankfurt is hoping for the whereabouts of its regular players Daichi Kamada and Evan Ndicka, whose contracts expire in the summer. “We really want to keep them, have made them offers and explained their role at Eintracht in the future. Now we have to wait and see. We are convinced that it would be best for them to stay with Eintracht,” said sporting director Markus Krösche in a “kicker” interview (Thursday).

Attacking midfielder Kamada (26) played for Japan at the World Cup in Qatar. The 26-year-old came to the Hessian Bundesliga team in 2017 and was loaned out to VV St. Truiden in Belgium. French central defender Ndicka (23) has been a member of Eintracht since 2018.

According to Krösche, there are no major transfers from Frankfurt during the winter break. “We’re very happy with the squad. We don’t want to and won’t lose any top performers. So I don’t think anything great will happen. But maybe someone will leave us to get more match practice,” said the 42-year-old.

Eintracht will start the new football year on January 21 in the league against FC Schalke 04. In the Champions League Round of 16 against SSC Napoli, Frankfurt will first play at home on February 21 and on March 15 in the second leg at the current Italian table leaders.
