The third-placed team came to a 4-1 (1-0) win over fifth-placed SC Freiburg on Friday evening at the start of the 13th Bundesliga matchday and now has a seven-point lead over their rivals. With 29 points, the Hessians are now well ahead of their direct pursuer TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (23), who has to play against defending champion VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday, who has not lost any points.
National player Nicole Anyomi put the Frankfurt team, who were superior from the start, on the road to victory with a double strike in the 17th and 50th minutes. Geraldine Reuteler (55th) and Carlotta Wamser (89th) with their first Bundesliga goal contributed the other goals. Hasret Kayikci (83rd) made it 3-1 for Freiburg. Eintracht have to play Werder Bremen next weekend.
