Heusenstamm (dpa/lhe) – Four people were slightly injured in a fire in an apartment building in Heusenstamm (Offenbach district) on Wednesday evening. Three residents and a firefighter suffered smoke inhalation, a police spokesman said on Thursday. Around 40 residents were looked after on site during the extinguishing work. A structural engineer examined the building, but with the exception of two apartments, all units were released to residents again.
According to initial estimates, the damage to property amounts to around 200,000 euros. The cause of the fire was initially unclear, and local residents reported a bang. Investigators should assess the site on Thursday, it said. Several media had previously reported.
