Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – The state of Hesse is suggesting the introduction of an additional legal university degree. As the Ministry of Justice in Wiesbaden announced on Tuesday, the state would like to propose the nationwide introduction of a Bachelor of Laws at the autumn conference of justice ministers.

According to the ministry, this degree is to be integrated into conventional law studies. In order to receive it, law students would have to show so-called “focus area achievements” in addition to being admitted to the first state examination. These areas of focus could differ at different universities. The Hessian Ministry of Justice sees this as a security for the students and an opportunity for the universities and the job market.
