Wiesbaden/Frankfurt (dpa/lhe) – This year’s Hessian Publishing Prize goes to two publishers from Frankfurt. The regional publisher Henrich Editionen receives the main prize, which is endowed with 15,000 euros. The special prize, worth 5,000 euros, goes to Edition Faust, as the Ministry of Science and Art announced in Wiesbaden on Wednesday.

“The Henrich Editions attach great importance to reaching people with their program who are new to the country, new to the city and should feel at home here,” the jury explained their decision. Edition Faust, on the other hand, impresses above all with its activities in the area of ??so-called graphic novels.

“The winners impressively show the wide range, the courage to go for the extraordinary and the high quality of publishing work in Hesse,” said Art Minister Angela Dorn (Greens).

The prize has been awarded since 2018 by the state and the state association of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland of the German Book Trade Association. It aims to support the cultural diversity of publishers.
