Dillenburg/Wetzlar (dpa/lhe) – In the communities of Bischoffen and Hohenahr in the Lahn-Dill district, the telephone network failed on Tuesday. According to the district, the districts of Bermoll, Bellersdorf, Königsberg, Frankenbach and Blasbach were also affected.
Since, according to the police, the Internet was also disrupted in addition to the Telekom landline network, emergency calls could only be made via mobile networks. Helpers were posted in the fire brigade equipment houses and village community centers to record reports of medical emergencies or fires.
According to the police, strangers broke into a technical building and cut through several cables there. The background to the burglary was initially unclear. Technicians began repairing the damage in the morning. “No statement can currently be made about the duration,” said the district.
