Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – Katharina Kiel will be the new technical director of the women’s soccer team at Eintracht Frankfurt. The former Bundesliga player will start her job next Tuesday and take over some of the tasks from Siegfried Dietrich, who retired in mid-October for health reasons as sports director for women’s football and chief representative of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG. In the future, coach Niko Arnautis will take over the tasks of sporting management in second place, Eintracht announced on Thursday.

The 30-year-old Kiel, who played more than 30 games for 1. FFC Frankfurt’s second deputy and later played for SC Bad Neuenahr and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, will receive a contract until the summer of 2025. “Katharina is very motivated and has a lot of ideas: we are all very much looking forward to working with her,” said Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche.
