Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – According to the Hessian Minister of Social Affairs Kai Klose (Greens), the nationwide increase in corona numbers are signs of the beginning of a new wave of infections. Inpatient care is also being increasingly used, the minister said on Wednesday in the Hessian state parliament in Wiesbaden.
The infection situation and the situation of health care in Hesse are being monitored very carefully, Klose assured. In close coordination with the hospitals and the medical profession, the state government is preparing to take measures if necessary to avoid overloading the hospitals.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the nationwide seven-day incidence on Wednesday morning as 799.9. In Hesse, the value of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week was 989.0 according to RKI information. However, this information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections.
