Kassel (dpa / lhe) – A man was stabbed at a tram stop in Kassel. The 30-year-old was taken to a hospital with serious injuries to his back and thighs. As the police and prosecutors announced on Tuesday, the suspected stabber was arrested shortly after the attack early on Saturday morning and was taken into custody.

Investigators accuse the 22-year-old man of attempted manslaughter. According to the public prosecutor, both men were in a bar together shortly before the crime. The background to the bloody deed was initially unclear.

The area around the forecourt of the Luther Church is considered a social hot spot. It was not until September that a 55-year-old man from a refugee facility was found dead just a few meters away.
