Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – The Hessian state government is supporting the health resorts in the state with a further five million euros to deal with the financial consequences of the corona pandemic. The third and last part of the crisis aid totaling 15 million euros has now been paid out, Finance Minister Michael Boddenberg (CDU) said on Thursday in Wiesbaden.
Health resorts are particularly affected by the Corona crisis. Due to the contact restrictions, spa guests could not have come at all or not as numerous as in normal times. The thermal baths had to close temporarily or restrict access. At the same time, there were high running costs for the health infrastructure around the pools, the minister explained the financial support.
According to Boddenberg, the distribution of the funds to the individual health resorts was coordinated with the municipal umbrella organizations and the spa association. They included the number of beds, overnight stays and residents.
