Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) – The murder trial of a 27-year-old will continue on Thursday (9:00 a.m.) with another psychiatric report. The defendant confessed that she let her 13-month-old son die of thirst and starvation in Rüsselsheim in October 2021. For the district court in Darmstadt it was unclear to what extent the Portuguese woman was limitedly responsible at the time of the crime. In July, the Chamber commissioned the forensic psychiatrist Henning Saß to provide another expert opinion. The first report diagnosed depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and intermittent identity disorder. As a child, the accused had been taken into the care of the youth welfare office by her parents because of sexual and physical violence.
