Offenbach (dpa/lhe) – The weather in Hesse brings many showers and thunderstorms at the start of the new week. In parts, there is also an increased potential for severe weather, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Sunday in Offenbach. At 25 to 30 degrees, the first strong thunderstorms from the Odenwald over the eastern and northern half of Hesse are there on Saturday afternoon. The weather experts at the DWD speak of a “locally limited risk of severe weather” with heavy rain, hail and gusts of wind. Further storms from the southwest must also be expected on Monday night. Due to the heavy rain, large amounts of rain can come down in a few hours.
The new week starts on Monday with lots of clouds in the sky and persistent showers and thunderstorms moving through from the west. The maximum temperatures are between 25 and 29 degrees. According to the DWD, the rain gradually moves east on Tuesday night. The weather in the coming week will remain unstable for the time being.
