Munich/Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – At a Hessian-Bavarian prime ministers’ meeting, Markus Söder (CSU) and Boris Rhein (CDU) want to explore closer cooperation in energy supply. “The future of energy supply lies in close partnerships – especially across borders,” said Söder on Thursday.

The meeting with the Rhine is therefore planned for the second week of September in Alzenau on the Bavarian-Hessian border. It is about networking with the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main metropolitan region, said Söder. Frankfurt and the Bavarian town of Aschaffenburg are just over half an hour’s drive apart.

Söder also wants to meet other of his counterparts to talk about the energy supply. The start will be made next Monday with a meeting with Baden-Württemberg’s Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) in Neu-Ulm and Ulm.
