Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – The trial against a 28-year-old man for a knife attack on the manager of a brothel began in front of the Frankfurt Regional Court on Monday. The prosecution accuses him of attempted manslaughter. The process is about an incident in July last year in Frankfurt’s Bahnhofsviertel.
On the first day of the hearing, the defendant did not comment on the allegation. After his arrest, signs of a mental illness were found – later he was transferred from custody to a psychiatric clinic. Nevertheless, the public prosecutor’s office has not yet made an application for permanent accommodation. The jury has so far scheduled five days of hearings until mid-October.
