Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – Around 58,900 children under the age of three are cared for in Hesse in a day care center or in day care. The State Statistical Office announced on Monday in Wiesbaden that the number of childcare contracts had increased by 4.1 percent compared to the previous year (as of March 1, 2022). The supervision rate climbed slightly from 31.3 percent to 32.5 percent. This value describes the proportion of children cared for in all children in the under-threes age group.
According to the statistics, there is an above-average care rate in Bad Homburg im Taunus with 48.8 percent or in Marburg with 44.6 percent. The state office announced that Rüsselsheim had a rather low rate at 15 percent and Hanau at 20.7 percent.
