Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – Because he drove too fast into a curve with 30 passengers on his trailer and caused an accident with injuries, a tractor driver had to pay a fine. According to a decision by the district court in Frankfurt-Höchst on Friday, this amounts to a total of 1560 euros (60 daily rates). The court found the 54-year-old guilty of negligent bodily harm. The trailer overturned in August 2018 when driving through a corn maze in Liederbach in the Main-Taunus district – the passengers fell off the car and were sometimes seriously injured.

The accused had apparently misjudged a downhill road during his driving maneuver and was traveling too fast at around 22 kilometers per hour. According to the expertise of an expert, the accident would have been avoidable at a walking speed of five to seven kilometers per hour. In court, the accused regretted the accident and apologized to the injured. Two of them are still suffering from the consequences almost four years later. The court lay between the applications of the public prosecutor’s office (70 daily rates) and the defense (40 daily rates). The judgment is already final.
