Darmstadt/Bad König (dpa/lhe) – After two men were shot in the Odenwald town of Bad König, a suspect was arrested. The 29-year-old turned himself in to a police station on Friday evening, the Darmstadt public prosecutor and the southern Hesse police headquarters said on Monday. The man from Michelstadt is now in custody.
A 24-year-old and a 46-year-old suffered gunshot wounds in the legs during the altercation on Sunday evening a week ago (October 23). According to the investigators, there was no danger to life. At least three other men were injured by pepper spray. According to the previous investigations, the men are said to have previously argued about an allegedly wrongly parked car.
The police and public prosecutor’s office initially did not provide any further information. Last Wednesday, investigators had two apartments in Groß-Umstadt (Darmstadt-Dieburg district) and Michelstadt (Odenwald district) searched, in which the 29-year-old and his companion were suspected. According to the Darmstadt public prosecutor’s office, the second suspect has not yet turned himself in nor has he been arrested. A spokesman said the investigation was ongoing.
