Bischofsheim (dpa/lhe) – Construction workers have found a World War II bomb in Bischofsheim (district of Groß-Gerau). The 250-kilogram bomb is to be defused on Tuesday by a controlled explosion, as the community announced during the night. Previously, surrounding buildings within a radius of 1000 meters would have to be evacuated. Accordingly, residents of Rüsselsheim are also affected. A care center will be set up for the Rüsselsheim citizens affected; Aid organizations would offer support there. The evacuation should last until 9 a.m. Further details were initially unclear.
