Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) – Fewer and fewer companies in Hesse have a works council. As can be seen from the “Progress Report 2022” of the State Statistical Office, the proportion of companies with a works council in Hesse fell from twelve percent in 2002 to eight percent in 2020. In between, the proportion fluctuated between nine and eleven percent. According to the figures, the larger the company, the more frequently there was a works council. In 2020, only five percent of companies with 5 to 50 employees had a works council, but 85 percent of companies with more than 500 employees.
