Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – In the nursing professions in Hesse, most of the employees work part-time for the outpatient care of patients. Social Affairs Minister Kai Klose (Greens) said in response to a parliamentary question from the SPD parliamentary group in Wiesbaden that the highest part-time quota was registered among geriatric care assistants. The minister referred to the Hessian care monitor with the last official figures from the end of 2019.
Accordingly, 55 percent of the outpatient geriatric nurses and 60 percent of the health and nurses were not employed full-time. The minister explained that the part-time rate for geriatric care assistants was 72 percent.
According to the information, the part-time rate of inpatient nursing staff in the Hessian acute hospitals was 46 percent and 53 percent in the rehabilitation clinics. In the inpatient care facilities, the part-time quota for the largest professional group of geriatric nurses was 44 percent.
