Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – A 32-year-old man was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison on Friday by the Frankfurt Regional Court for threatening his former partner with a knife and raping him. The judges assumed particularly serious rape and deprivation of liberty. The verdict is not yet legally binding. (Az: 4781 Js 234342/22)

According to the indictment, after various violent attacks against the 24-year-old, the couple separated in the summer of last year. The woman moved out, but was tracked down by the former partner. After a discussion lasting several hours, during which the 32-year-old repeatedly threatened with the knife, he forced sexual intercourse in a park in July. In court he was silent on the accusation – his defense attorney explained in the plea that the sexual contact may have been consensual.

The public prosecutor even saw the behavior as a hostage-taking and demanded eight and a half years. However, the court did not agree because both parties had known each other for a long time.
