When is Easter in 2023. This is one of the questions that we have probably asked ourselves the most since Christmas passed. Over and over again we search the 2023 work calendar in search of when we can again enjoy one or more holidays that allow us to rest or travel.
In the case of Easter, the holidays will vary depending on the autonomous community. Of course, what is certain is that April 7, Good Friday, will be a holiday, since it is a national holiday.
For their part, up to 15 regions, in addition to Ceuta and Melilla, include April 6, Holy Thursday, as a holiday in their work calendars. These are: Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, the Community of Madrid, Murcia, Navarra, the Basque Country, La Rioja.
While six autonomous communities will have a holiday on Monday, April 10, known as Easter Monday: the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Navarra, the Basque Country, La Rioja and the Valencian Community.
The date of Holy Week is different each year because Easter Sunday is calculated using the lunar calendar.
Thus, Easter Sunday will always be the one following the first full moon of the boreal spring (that is, from the northern hemisphere).
