According to Daniel Kaplan, TheAthletic.com, the Jaguars filed Wednesday a motion to dismiss Josh Lambo’s lawsuit.

Kaplan obtained court documents showing that the Jaguars claim Lambo didn’t follow up after Urban Meyer, his agent, cursed and kicked at him.

The motion states that Club’s legal counsel “acknowledged and promptly responded to Lambo’s query,” via Kaplan. Plaintiff does not claim that he or his agent responded to the query made by Club’s legal counselor offering to follow-up with Plaintiff, Mr. Meyer, and/or Club management.”

Jaguars claim they cannot be sued for retaliation in violation of the Florida Whistleblower Act, as Meyer was not instructed by the club to “assault” Lambo.

The motion states that the case of the plaintiff is solely based on Urban Meyer’s alleged criminal acts, and not any club policy, practice, or activity.

Lambo sued Meyer in May. He claimed Meyer abused him verbally and physically, with Meyer’s release following Week 6. This was a violation the Florida Private Sector Whistleblower’s Act. Lambo is seeking to be paid his $3.5million base salary for 2021 and compensation for emotional distress.

Meyer is alleged to have kicked Lambo in August before a preseason match. He said to Lambo, “Hey dipshit. Making your f-ing kicks.” Meyer replied, “I’m head ball coach. I’ll kick anyone the f— I want.”

Meyer replied in December to Lambo’s account of the incident.
