Jameis Winston, Saints quarterback, has made a good recovery from his torn ACL last year. Winston was able to return to the field for OTAs this spring. Winston also felt the knee was healing well enough that he did not need any protective gear during a recent workout.

Winston uploaded a video to Instagram showing him throwing drills with no brace on his left leg.

Winston wore his brace through OTAs, minicamp and indicated that he plans to continue wearing it until 2022. This plan could remain intact, with Winston’s decision to remove the brace during the throwing session merely being an indication that his knee is still feeling well ahead of the start training camp.

This would mean Winston will likely start the Falcons season opener on September 11, regardless of what he is wearing on his knee.
