CaliforniaGov. Gavin Newsom’s brother in law, Joshua Schiller, was detained Wednesday evening for alleged domestic violence, according to authorities.
KTVU reported that police responded shortly before 11 p.m. into a disturbance at a home.
After talking with the inhabitants and exploring the disturbance, reacting officers decided Schiller had supposedly committed an act of domestic violence against his partner or cohabitant.
Authorities said the victim had visible injuries which were modest in nature and didn’t need immediate medical therapy.
Schiller was arrested and booked in Marin County Jail on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
The 40-year-old is currently a partner at Boies Schiller Flexner law company, which will be located in New York with offices in San Francisco.
Agents for Schiller and Boies Schiller Flexner didn’t immediately return FOX News’ requests for comment.
