The accident took place on Thursday August 17 on a large avenue in central Lisbon. A collision between two trams caused 13 minor injuries, including three children, the emergency services quoted by local media said. Among the injured passengers were two Frenchmen, two Czechs, an American, an Italian and a Spaniard, a source from the Lisbon fire brigade told Lusa news agency.
Eight passengers, suffering from trauma, were taken to hospital, according to the emergency services.
The causes of this accident, which occurred in a large avenue that runs along the Tagus River, are not yet known.
Lisbon has a network of traditional and modern trams, very popular with tourists to discover the historic areas of the city.
