Susana Saborido, Joaquín’s wife, has published an emotional text on her Instagram account in which she shows her sadness at the retirement of her husband, captain of Betis, with whom she has been married for more than 15 years. “This day had to come, even though my heart and soul don’t understand it,” she begins the post.
Saborido, who takes the opportunity to show her love for the bético, remembers that they met as “two children, full of illusions and dreams” and is moved when she remembers her husband’s football career: “Every game in which I have seen you play I had hair on end and emotions on the surface”.
“Today I have to see how you say goodbye to your life, to your world, to your everything, and now I don’t know what to say or what to do, because I can’t believe it,” he reflects, to later conclude: Just saying that You were, are and will be one of the best footballers that Spain has produced. You will always be Joaquín 17″.
The 41-year-old footballer announced his retirement at the beginning of the week through a video posted on social networks in which he assures that at the end of this season his sports career will end after more than 20 years active.
