A man was in critical condition after being shot about 1 p.m. Monday, authorities said.
Police said the 30-year-old man was in the 9500 block of South Bishop Street in the Longwood Manor neighborhood when he was shot. Officials said he suffered from a gunshot wound that apparently left him with injuries in his face and neck.
The man was taken to Christ Hospital for treatment, where he was listed in critical condition.
No one was in custody in connection with the shooting.
The incident was the first shooting of the day Monday and came more than 18 hours after the previous shooting.
It was the 168th shooting of the year, according to data kept by the Tribune. There have been 103 homicides in the same time frame, also according to Tribune data.
