A Bethlehem man attacked his girlfriend while he was driving, and threatened to slit her throat during the assault, according to city police.
Michael Kovacs, 47, allegedly pulled the victim out of his car by her hair, and threw her on the ground, police said.
When the woman told Kovacs she called 911, he fled, but was eventually arrested on Tuesday.
Kovacs, of the 1800 block of Budd Avenue, is charged with simple assault, making terroristic threats and harassment. He is free after posting $10,000 bail.

Police said they were called for a possible assault Friday night, and found the bruised victim near West Lehigh Street and 13th Avenue.
The woman reported Kovacs was her boyfriend, and that night he was driving her in his vehicle to his home.
Kovacs, who had been drinking, confronted the woman about her phone, and the two began arguing when Kovacs punched the victim in the face, police said.
The woman swung back at Kovacs, and he pulled over near 13th Avenue and twisted the victim’s head, police said. Kovacs reached into a pocket where he normally keeps a knife and allegedly threatened to slit the woman’s throat.
Kovacs tried to continue driving as the woman climbed into the back seat, but police said he pulled over again and grabbed the victim by her hair.
