Schwerin (dpa/mv) – A citizens’ initiative against the controversial planned northern bypass of Schwerin through nature reserves said it handed over 1891 signatures against the project to the petitions committee of the state parliament on Friday. “We criticize the fact that this road is intended to build over urgently needed agricultural land and valuable nature reserves, including a valuable moorland area,” explained the initiator, Susanne Dörffel. The project is bad for the climate and for nature and does not bring any relief for downtown Schwerin. It stands as a priority in the Federal Transport Routes Plan.
